Well, we are camping in South Africa again in Bela Bela.
It was a 90 minute drive north up the N1.
We need to invest in a roof box, the roads are too bumpy for a trailer. I travelled up with the youngest and hubby brought the eldest and his mate up late afternoon.
On arrival our tent was erected and car unloaded all for R100 (lead than £10).
Hubby is doing the braai and is off in the morning as he is working, but he's back on saturday to help ferry us home.
Tomorrow we shall feast on bacon, eggs and waffles and after the kids have done the washing up, they will go and swim in a variety of pools. Waves, slides, hot natural spring baths and I shall shower in the immaculate facilities and sit and read and write some letters. After I've fed the kids toasted sandwiches for lunch and they have washed up again, I shall join them by the pool for the afternoon.
South Africa is the perfect place for camping at this time of year. Warm in the day, a bit chilly at night but we have plenty of blankets and fluffy socks. You should come and join us.

Sounds lovely and a great way to find some peace and fun too. What is braii?
ReplyDeleteI like family camping lots
A braai is just what South Africans call a BBQ, however they do use wood instead of coals
