The construction in Dubai is non stop. not even Covid has slowed Dubai down.
When I took the first photo just over 5 years ago, I made a mistake as I failed to take into account my ability to return to the same spot to take subsequent photos. If I return to this spot now, I'd be standing in the middle of a 120 meter wide and 6 meter deep canal.

I'm sure it won't be long before I need to find a new vantage point for these two photos taken just over 2 years apart. The Dubai skyline is disappearing from view behind new layers of buildings and is becoming longer and denser.

Oh wow, that is very dramatic. I spent quite a while assessing all the buildings, figuring out which were built, partially built or entirely new. I would also recommend either finding a new vantage point or getting a boat for the next set of photos! Thinking about it, it can't be too difficult to get a vantage point in Dubai. There's no shortage of tall buildings after all!
ReplyDeleteIf I get the chance I will try the boat trip, but my time on this trip is running short now
DeleteWow, it really is disappearing! Who would have thought such a huge canal could appear in such a short space of time, not to mention all of the buildings?!
ReplyDeleteIt's just growing every day, so many new buildings in other areas that just pop up also
DeleteIncredible, love these photos, have you taken any photos from above to show how it's spread out over time?
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto
