Word of the week - Rewind

If time travel was a thing then it happens when I visit my old neighbourhood and oldest friends that I have regular contact with.

Our kids used to play together all the time, round one another's houses, down the park, walked to and from school, given their tea, cul de sac hair cuts, baby sat by the adults, the older kids as they turned into teens, bathed at the neighbours and and put to bed, then collected and carried home after a shift to their own beds. There were other children, now also adults with kids of their own who have come and gone or are still around in full force also, either the parents, or their now adult children with their own children too..

There have been holidays, births, christenings, marriages, divorces, deaths. We've celebrated and mourned together. We've been to concerts, shows, school events, hosted birthday parties, decorated, helped with moves

Autumn 2000

Autumn 2026 Top right - gone from playing mum to my youngest to being mum to a 14 year old.

There was a halloween party in the village last Sunday, my DIL came down with the grandchildren, my friend invited them to come back to hers on Friday for a party in the garden with her grandchildren and having my grandchildren there this year was like rewinding time.

While we drank tea and got the food ready.

The next generation were playing, just like the last and I wonder if they'll stay in touch like their mums and dads and their granny and nan have?

  2. I hear my neighbours have loads of friends and families around and I wish I could rewind to the days when our home was filled with others and the children were young. What great photos you have to share, I'm glad you survived the stabbing :)

  3. How lovely to feel like you were turning back time getting together with your oldest friends. The Halloween party looked like so much fun and how lovely to see the next generation playing together. #WotW
