In the light of recent sightings of a large, exotic animal

We got this email from the housing group we rent through in Dubai.

We've since received confirmation it was someones pet cat, a large pet cat.

Still not saying whether it was a panther, jaguar an over active imagination or just a black cat. Watch the video and let me know what you think.

  1. How exciting! Glad to hear this wild beast has been found 'though. Back when I was a journalist a big cat specialist was in my 'patch'. As the North York Moors was on our doorstep he used to get ocassional calls with big cat sightings. He once told me he didn't take them seriously unless the person reporting the sighting said they'd something"the size of a horse.!" Anything else, he could simply write off as a domestic, feral cat. There's a whole history to it. In the 1970s there was a change in the law making big cat ownership illegal and so some owners simply released their's into the wild and that's why Bodmin, North York Moors etc has lots of big cat sightings with some of them undoubtedly genuine.

  2. I can't see the video unfortunately, but I do remember sightings of big cats in our local woods as a child and we weren't allowed to go there, obviously being kids we paid no heed to the warnings and we never saw it, whether there was actually a big cat in our woods I'll know, but there where so many rumours of sightings of big cats all over the country when I was a child back in the 70's

  3. I really hate when people keep exotic animals as pets - not good for the animal or people

  7. I can't see the video, unfortunately, but it does sound intriguing. Hopefully it really was just a large domestic cat.
