12th-14th April 2024 Post Comment Love

Welcome back to #PoCoLo with Stephanie from Bosworth.Life and I.

Post Comment Love #PoCoLo is a friendly weekly linky where you can link up any blog post you've written this week. If you're new or a regular visitor we're sure you'll find something of interest.

Hope you all had a good Easter, I'm back to work after 2 weeks off. I love working in a school with all the holidays. We went to Northern Ireland to visit our son, his wife and our 2 and a half year old grandson.

We've started work in the garden by dismantling the old shed, there have been several runs to the local tip, the base is in perfect condition so other than a bit of edging its ready for the table and chairs to go on, then the other smaller shed can come down and we can start to plan the raised flower beds and decide where the new compost bin will be going.

We'd also appreciate your help spreading the #PoCoLo word on Twitter, tag us and we'll RT. You can find us on twitter here: Stephanie - @BosworthLife and Suzanne - @ChickenRuby

March 2024 - Days out in the camper van

We didn't get up to much in March due to the constant rain, but when we did go it, it was great to have somewhere to store our wet coats, get changed if needed and brew up a cup of tea with the heating on.

We started the month with snow. It didn't last long and our theory is these days if we're out anywhere and get stuck, it really doesn't matter anymore, there's no need to attempt to drive anywhere whether we're out or at home.

Mostly we just used the van to go to work and the shops.

We visited child 2, his wife and our grandson over Easter and travelled on the ferry from Liverpool to Belfast.

We used to take the dog with us, now we have to check the cat hasn't snook her way in.

Our grandson was very excited to 'go in Granny's caravan'

We did get parked up on the beach for a couple of hours when the weather improved at Benone where ice creams were enjoyed, free from sand.

April will see us camping in the van for the first time as we head to the Sussex coast for a couple of weekends to drop mum off to visit her siblings.

We've got a new cable tidy and we've removed the camping toilet as we'll only need that as a legal requirement if we travel in Europe, so there's more space for storing walking gear.

Other than packing our clothes and chucking in a pillow or two the van is all set to go.

2024 Week 14 One Daily Positive, Project 365 and A Selfie a Day

April

92  Monday Whilst son and Dil cleaned and packed up the caravan, Peter and I took grandson and the dogs for a coffee and a walk along the sand dunes and the beach before spending some time in the park. I helped out with cleaning the fridge and the bathroom and Peter entertained grandson in the van. We drove the 90mins back to theirs to unpack their car, put the washing on and enjoy our last bit of time with them before we went to the in laws for dinner and hear all about their 3 week cruise they'd just returned from. They cooked dinner, son, Dil and grandson left, we stayed for another drink then said our goodbyes and drove to the ferry. I went straight to the cabin for a shower and bed, while Peter diverted via the bar.

93  Tuesday Ferry docked at 6.15am, we were off, on the road and at the services for coffee within an hour. Home by 10.30am to be greeted by a very angry cat, whose 15th birthday was celebrated. So tired I did cry, every bone and muscle in my body ached, I couldn't grip anything and my eyes hurt as well as feeling sick all day. I managed to unpack, did some washing with help from Peter, watched a lot of TV in bed, had a long bath and an early night.

94  Wednesday I spent the day in bed with a migraine, watching TV and sleeping. Peter went into Worcester for a hair cut and to do the food shopping. At 4.30pm I got an invite for coffee, so I thought some fresh air would do me good and I met up with a friend from work for an hour, she bought me some daffodils. Evening spent on the sofa, bath and an early night.

95  Thursday A lazy morning followed by the removal of the shed at last. 2 years after the new shed went up, the old one started to come down. I spent the morning making sure I was close at hand to labour for Peter and make sure he didn't fall off the roof. I then went to the bank and coffee shop to fill in a job application. Home for dinner, a bath and an evening spent blogging and phone call with my cousin in the states. I made an application to appear on the Repair Shop.

96  Friday A lie in then to the tip with the roofing felt, a coffee and some blogging, home to spend the day with granddaughter and DIL. Evening spent with friend with chips and wine.

97  Saturday A lie in then off to the nail bar mid morning. I then went for coffee and did some blogging. Rest of the day spent tidying the garden and removing the last of the shed. In-between helping Peter, I read my book and sorted some paperwork.

98  Sunday Day spent on labouring for Peter, cooking dinner and ironing. I've finished writing my 4 years in South Africa for now with almost 20,000 words. I've just got to decide what, if anything I want to do with it. Publish as a keepsake for future generations or find out if a wider audience would be interested in reading it. I did a couple of tip runs and met a friend for coffee. Bath and an early night ready for work in the morning.

87  Wednesday Peter and I went to Rushmere. Afternoon spent walking dogs and helping with some household chores, an early dinner. We did bath, story and bed time while son was in work and DIL took the puppy to training classes.

88  Thursday A day at the farm, in the rain, but fun still had with a tractor ride and lots of animals to be seen. Just Peter, Freddie and myself. In the afternoon we packed and headed up to Benone to DILs Grandad's caravan for the weekend. Everyone went down to the beach, I stayed in the van nursing a migraine and had an early night.

89  Friday We headed out to Colaraine for the morning to walk around the shops and have a coffee. Grandson was happy to see all the bin lorries. We had fish and chips for tea, played int he park and walked back down to the beach.

90  Saturday We spent the day in Port Rush, Peter, Grandson and I went for lunch, then we all met up for a walk. Son, Dil and Grandson went back to the caravan and Peter and I walked around the coast. We had dinner in the caravan.

91  Sunday Son, Dil, Grandson and I went to soft play for a couple of hours and enjoyed sometime on the 2p slots with grandson running around stealing all the winnings. Back to the caravan to collect Peter then off to the pub for lunch. March

78  Monday Home from work, exhausted, bath, pjs and sat in front of the telly all afternoon and evening.

79  Tuesday Home from work, washing, hoovering, moved the bougainvillea back outside along with the new storage box I assembled last week. Did some job hunting, found nothing of great interest. Blogging, TV, bath and bed.

80 Wednesday Left work at lunch for dental appointment. Old crown removed, mouldings taken and temporary crown applied. Home to tidy my craft room, sort clothing for week away and tidy dining room. I put together Bob's keep sake box with collar, footprints and dog bed. Evening spent on the sofa, watching TV and blogging.

81  Thursday Into work and home via the retail park for a coffee, meeting up with 3 colleagues for a natter. Home for dinner and spent an hour in the loft room tidying up and sorting things for donation, tip, selling etc.

82  Friday Home from work and end of term for 2 weeks. Stopped a the pub with a colleague on the way home, our visit was cut short after a pedestrian was hit by a car. Colleague redirected traffic till the ambulance arrived and I took the drivers son home and called his nan to come and sit with him, until mum had spoken to the police. All OK. Peter and I went out in the evening for dinner, home and an early night.

83  Saturday A leisurely day with washing and general tidying before packing the car and taking our time to drive to Liverpool via Cheshire Oaks and the ferry to Belfast for the week. Ferry was delayed by 90 minutes, so didn't sail until midnight and the sea was really choppy. Straight to the cabin and didn't wake till we docked at 7am.

84  Sunday Arrived at son and daughter in laws house to a very happy 2 and a half year old grandson. 'Granny, Gaga (grandad)' all day long. Do you have an Easter Tree?

Are Easter trees a thing?

I've seen lots of sticks and twigs decorated with Easter eggs.

But I decided to bring down the small Christmas tree out of the attic and hang the Easter decorations on it instead of buying something new or spray painting branches and making something myself.

My husband thinks I'm mad. I probably am.

We'll be spending Easter in Northern Ireland. There are eggs for the adults and our grandson as well as some Easter activity crafts and the same for our other grandchild who we'll see before we go. There's an egg for the house sitter and one for her to share with the cat and the dog egg is coming with us to Northern Ireland for child 4's dogs.

There will be a trail for the neighbours kids when they come to visit to collect their eggs and I delivered eggs to my friend's kids over the weekend.

It's not just Christmas and Easter time that I decorate, I did Valentines last month and I love Halloween also.

I took some decorations and cakes into school for my students for Valentines.

I did the same for Easter.

Do you decorate for Easter and other occasions?

2024 Week 11 One Daily Positive, Project 365 and A Selfie a Day

March

71  Monday I'm so tired all the time, hopefully B12 jab will take effect quickly on Wednesday. Left work mid morning with a migraine that just isn't shifting. Spent the rest of the day until 6pm in bed, mostly asleep.

72  Tuesday Off work. Most of the day spent in bed sleeping, I couldn't focus on reading. I cooked myself some lunch and struggled to eat it as I was so tired. Max meds taken by 4pm. Sat outside in the sun late afternoon, then bath, fresh pjs and bed by 8pm.

73  Wednesday Back into work via the GP for my B12 jab, wrong day, it's tomorrow. Peter collected me and we went for a coffee. Home absolutley exhausted, evening spent in front of TV, blogging and reading.

74  Thursday Into work via B12 jab, mentioned to nurse that the cream for the Bowens Disease (skin cancer) on leg doesn't appear to be working, need to contact the skin clinic as the treatment isn't working. The nurse has also suggested I have the B12 jabs every 8 weeks. Went for a coffee with a couple of colleagues after work and posted Easter parcel to Great Niece. Home for dinner, TV, bath and bed.

75  Friday Wear something red to work for Comic Relief. Home at 3.30pm with the most horrendous migraine, took maximum pills and bed for 2 hours. Work colleague popped by whilst dog walking, Peter just let her in having never met her before and she flew through the door with the dog dragging her in. Peter was expecting my friend who arrived 20 mins later. It took a while for us to register what was going on.

76  Saturday Nail bar mid morning, then train into Worcester for St Patricks Day bottomless brunch with work colleagues, home at 9pm and straight to bed. Had a fab evening, they told everyone it was my birthday and I had to do different challenges to earn us all free shots. I planked and did an Irish jig. It's not my birthday.

77  Sunday Up early and off on an Easter Egg run. Called in at child 1, mums, grandchild then various friends in Monmouth and the Forest of Dean. Home at 8pm. Lovely to have caught up with so many people, even though each visit was short.
