I forgot to mention last week that I found a pension from 15 years ago that I could add to my pot of all the bits of pensions I've ever had and called a financial advisor who will look into it for me.
I also did my self assessment tax return. No idea why I got asked to one this year, as I'd finished being a landlord 3 years ago and didn't think I'd be asked again after paying the Capital Gains tax on the flat.
I also sorted out the HSBC holiday insurance that comes with our account, finally getting round to doing the screening, now I've been officially diagnosed with migraines, even though I've had them for 50+ years.
I've also been applying for several jobs in local schools. From TA to cover teacher positions.
Day 174
Work ok after I'd braved the tears about not going in. Tired, still headachy and emotionally drained. I really don't need the hassle of finding a new job and starting over with people. I've a new colleague who looked a bit perplexed with my reasons for men day off work on Friday. I had to explain our daughter had died last year and I just was feeling sad. Took myself for a coffee after work to fill in more job applications, then a bit of shopping and home for dinner, a bath and an early night.
My last ever PG Tips pyramid bag.
Day 175
Up at 8am and a mad dash to work. I got in before the second bell and wondering why I bother going in early every day anyway. 1st lesson was manic with year 7s and 8s and a mixture of topics being covered. I prefer it when we're all doing maths or English, but my students have difficulty coming into school and it's nice to be able to help them with their individual needs. Using I only have 4-5 students max but occasionally this happens and I've got 8. Getting 8 into school in one go, takes a lot of time and effort. Straight home, fell asleep reading my book for an hour, managed to stay awake till 10pm and after my bath straight to bed to read again. I was offered an interview at the other school in the town.
Hubby fixed the bubble machine.
Didn't have a good nights sleep, off to work and had my back to work interview after a day off on Friday. The simple version was a migraine, but my line manager got the long version of not feeling valued. A hot day, the students were flagging despite the fan on. I prepped some English and maths for when I'm at my interview on Tuesday morning. Met Peter at the coffee shop and bought some food and drink for my students for my birthday tomorrow. In bed by 9pm having started a new book.
Baked cakes for work colleague.
Day 177
Happy Birthday to me. A day in work after opening my presents from Peter, a little party at form time, a couple of gifts and cards from students and colleagues and home for a BBQ and a glass of wine or two. Teaching English poetry all day, my brain was addled. Home to a delivery of flowers and gifts. Friend dropped a gift round and stayed for a while. We watched TV. Bags packed for our camping trip on the weekend.
Day 178
Slept well, work, then Peter collected me and we drove to Porthcawl and set the van up for the weekend. We’re in a pub car park near the beach.
Day 179
We walked the coast from Porthcawl to Rest Bay, had a coffee and walked back, via the town and arcades. In the afternoon we set off for a paddle in the sea and it absolutely chucked it down. Went out for dinner, another visit to the arcades and back to the van to read.
Day 180
Packed and left around 10.30am. Stopped at Bridgend for a coffee, nothing of interest in the shops. I finished reading my book while Peter drove. Home around 2pm and scorching hot. Watched a movie, did the washing, blogged, a bath and most definitely an early night.
