Week 5 One daily Positive FMSPHOTOADAY SnapHappyBritMums Project365

Well that's it, we are finally in our new home in Dubai. The furniture arrived on Tuesday and we are all unpacked, not everything has a home yet and things are getting rearranged, driving hubby up the wall. We are having fun rediscovering things and are slightly puzzled by the mystery of the disappearing saucepans, however the airfreight will arrive in the next day or so and the mystery may hopefully be solved.

Day 25
#onedailypositive #blackandwhite #fmsphotoaday #happy #snaphappybritmums #project

I'd be pushing it if I said I was happy or that things were improving with our relocation from South Africa to Dubai, but I can report that things are progressing at last.

The furniture is due to arrive on Tuesday (don't ask about the airfreight, we're not even sure we know where it is right now)

Black and White was easy, this is the guest toilet, the house is very old and needs a lot of work doing to it, we like a challenge and despite us renting we intend to do a few jobs around the place to personalise and make it our home. After all when you sell a property you don't get back or charge the new owners for the cost of paint and new grout do you?

Day 26
#onedailypositive #3things #fmsphotoaday#SomethingGrey #snaphappybritmums

Well my photos are dull and boring but document the positives in life which are some days difficult to find being so far from 'home' My 3 things are cleaning material, a packet of fags and a bottle of water as I finish preparing the house for tomorrow's arrival of our shipping container. The 'something grey' is the grey area as to whether it is actually coming or not as no one has been in touch and as we are relying on the 'less than helpful' relocation service we have no contact numbers.

Day 28 #onedailypositive #strange #fmsphotoaday #sky #snaphappybritmums #project365

tah dah! we are in our new home, sleeping under a new sky, no security guards, no alarms, no electric and barb wire fences which after 4 years in South Africa is all of a sudden a strange experience for us. Oh and the tall pointy thing in the middle is the Burg Khalifa.

Even in winter in Dubai it's summer. Beautiful flowers from the moving company. The house is almost a home now.

My favourite food is any meal (tonight's was salad in our new home) eaten with hubby, Dad to our 5 kids.

Day 31 #onedailypositive #ontop #fmsphotoaday #cool #snaphappybritmums #project365

I'm glad we moved to Dubai in the winter, it's been so hot and hard work unpacking, I'm a little concerned about how we'll cope in the summer, but we are equipped with air conditioning units mounted on top of the walls keeping us cool in the summer.
