A visit to the Crematorium Garden with HDYGG

Once a year when I visit the UK, I go to the Crematorium in Newport, South Wales to visit my Gran.

I was fortunate to have my Grandmother in my life for 34 years and she got to know my three grandchildren, my husband Peter and his two children.

She played an important role in my life and I know she'd be proud of us all today. She'd also love the fact we live abroad, first South Africa and now Dubai.

The gardens at the Crematorium are beautiful, it's such a peaceful place to visit.

  1. We drove past a cemetery the other day which at first I thought was a public garden. When I go to visit my nan's grave I always give it a tidy up and my parents have planted various seasonal flowers and plants on it. She would be cursing the huge oak tree and all the leaves it blows onto her grave though!

  3. It's nice to see such colourful gardens at the crematorium; many don't have them. My grandparents are buried near my home but the only colour there is from the flowers people put down. Bought a smile to my face hearing that you Gran got to know your grandchildren. x

  5. Crematorium gardens are beautiful, I always think people would be pleased to be laid to rest in such gorgeously gardened areas. It's lovely you can come back and visit. I've never been to visit the crematoriums where my mum and dad were laid to rest but I know it brings comfort to lots of people to visit.

  7. I love the way crematoria and graveyards often have beautiful gardens. The Commonwealth War Graveyards here in Normandy are beautifully maintained and so peaceful.
