How much would you pay for a pair of ripped jeans? and why?

Call me old fashioned, or just call me old, but I just don't get it.

Pre ripped jeans with a hefty price tag available in most stores. I'd not even buy them in a charity shop.

Why oh why?

When I was a teenage in the mid 80's I wore ripped jeans, I understand fashion. They were old jeans where they'd started to wear at the knees and I'd sit with a nail fail, much to my parents alarm, or a piece of sandpaper and make my own rip in the jeans, nicely frayed.

One rip in a knee and another rip just under the arse pocket, but buy a pair already ripped? I just don't get the point.

And as for this?

Why oh why would anyone want to wear a jacket that looks like it still has the tailors chalk on it?
