Week 2 of Mothers visit, after a very busy weekend she was more than happy to stay in for a few days and clean my glass cabinet, do the ironing and put up the christmas tree. Next week I'll have her doing the dusting and sewing some dog beds so we can get in the spare room ready for child 4 of 5 who arrives a week on Sunday.
i've felt a bit guilty about my mum being on her own all day, but although it's winter here in Dubai, it's still 28c and while we find it cool and are enjoying the outdoor life, my mother is struggling with the heat as after all it's still hotter than UK summers. We've been going out in the evenings straight from work for coffee, visiting local malls, the Miracle Gardens and Global Village.
I've been on count down till the end of term, getting all my paperwork up to date and my class ready for the new teacher who takes over in January as I've handed my notice in (more about that next week)

Sounds like you're very busy at the moment. I enjoyed the heat when we went to Doha in October, but we did avoid the middle of the day I guess.
ReplyDeleteboth Peter and I are really enjoying the cooler weather but it's still just too hot for my mum
Deleteyes it is much warmer than we are use to and I would be with your mum, too warm for my liking.
ReplyDeleteNice that your mum is keeping herself busy thought, and by doing some work she is helping relieve your stress.
it has helped with mother doing the ironing and washing up, as i've been able to go straight out after work with her
DeleteI hope you feel less stressed soon! Miracle Gardens looks brilliant. I hope your leaving do went well.
ReplyDeleteleaving do was fab and the stress levels have fallen dramactically
DeleteI can't believe the Winter temperatures! I could cope with those but not much more. A hot Christmas would seem so strange. Work night out looks good :)
ReplyDeleteafter 6 years of christmas in the sun we still haven't got used to it
DeleteI couldn't hack that heat all year round (and worse). That tree is pretty spectacular.
ReplyDeletecompared to the summer this is positively cold now
DeleteThe miracle gardens and global village were places we missed when we visited. Really want to see them...maybe one day!
ReplyDeletethey are lovely places to visit, i guess I've just been there too often now with all the visitors
Deleteit is so hot !!! although i don't like it too cold, i could not imagine a winter that hot all the time, not surprised your mum found it hard to climates. The Miracle Gardens sound great and that Christmas tree is amazing! x
