I've been to Germany several times and the holocaust memorial in Berlin, but I'd never been to a concentration camp, I didn't want to. I didn't need to be there to know what when on during the 2nd World War. I'd learnt about it in school and it doesn't appear that many lessons were learnt from the killing of innocent people before my life began, when you think of all the current atrocities that have been going since since then.
But I'm glad I made the visit, I found it very emotional. It helped me to understand the history I'd learnt at school. I won't go into my views or the history of it. I'll just leave you to look at the photographs and draw your own conclusions.
All I will say is a visit sure does make it clear the scale of what went on.
