Week 15 Project 365

What can I say about this week other than it's just flown past. The teen boy is here for the Easter vacation, we've been so busy, sightseeing, playing board games and gardening that he was begging me for a day or two at home doing nothing, which is he's done on days 99 & 100. I however have carried on in the heat and I'm ready to expire, especially as the air con has packed in.....grrrrrrrr.

Day 95 #onedailypositive #egg #fmsphotoaday #bunny #snaphappybritmums #project365

There are no eggs left in our house to take a photo of so all I can offer you is a Bunny on cardboard bunting my mother sent over for Easter along with a few other decorations and we'll be having a full sunday roast as the teen has insisted on it as part of family tradition, despite it being 32c outside.

I've seen some eggs this morning on social media and jeez i think some of you set rods for your own backs. Why do some of you feel the need for such competition? I've seen pictures of little kids with 5+ eggs, DVD's, toys etc plus easter hunt games at places that charge nearly £100 for family entry. As a child I received an egg of my parents, we probably went somewhere over the bank holiday weekend as a family, but this would have been one trip out of handful that we did all year. In fact my first Easter I remember well, 1975, I was 4, the year my Sister was born, my mum was heavily pregnant and she built me a snow man in the back garden.

My kids had a small cheap egg from us, an egg from 2 sets of grandparents and aunts and uncles would all travel to granny's house for the weekend for a sunday lunch and we'd all swop eggs, as the families grew, this was replaced with a kitty and the latest Videos were bought and be swopped around. My kids have 3 sets of grandparents, 8 sets of aunties and uncles and 17 cousins, so you can understand why we stopped the egg swop, it was just too much.

Day 96 #onedailypositive #AShape #fmsphotoaday #MyView #snaphappybritmums #project365

A trip with the teen on the water ferry today, difficult to pick just one shape from my view.

Day 97 #onedailypositive #beauty #fmsphotoaday #outdoors #snaphappybritmums #project365

I could happily sit here all day, well at least another hour while the #teen is up there. There is such beauty in the great outdoors #atthetop #burjkhalifa #dubaiMall #emaar #TouchTheSky #Dubai  #MyDubai #MyView #TeenOnHoliday #travel #solo #expat #explore #local #family #BoardingSchool #holiday #halfterm

Day 98 #onedailypositive #breakfast #fmsphotoaday #WhereImStanding #snaphappybritmums #project365

I only see my teenage son 4 times a year, so I am more than happy to wait on him hand, foot and finger and deliver his breakfast as requested.

Day 99 #onedailypositive #inspired #fmsphotoaday #holiday #snaphappybritmums #project365

I don't need much inspiration to motivate me to take a holiday. The word holiday congers up images of white sand and blue seas and rest, plenty of rest, the dream holiday. I'm more of a traveller, an explorer. Especially as an expat, where the dream holiday destination is a 15 minute walk from my front door. I've 4 trips lined up this year, the UK later this month and again in September. Canada in June/July and South Africa in Oct/Nov. Hubby is off to America and Saudi, in-between my UK and Canada trip and then with the teen over for the long summer break, we want to plan a holiday together, somewhere cooler, maybe camping, maybe in Oman. I'm looking for inspiration, I've picked up some magazines and going to see how I am inspired to get on and book a holiday, something to look forward to do together as a family, rather than on our own.

Day 100 #onedailypositive #dark #fmsphotoaday #betterwithcake #snaphappybritmums #project365

Everything is better with cake, especially a dark chocolate brownie. But nothing can top today, not even cake, after a wonderful day out with hubby and the #teen to #FerrariWord #InAbuDhabi.

Day 101 #onedailypositive #ThisSmellsSoGood #fmsphotoaday #trees #snaphappybritmums #project365

Well I tried sniffing the trees, but they just smell of tree, there's not much of a scent to Dubai other than car fumes, but as I was walking to the bus the other day, I could smell something very familiar, something I'd not smelt for a long time and it was grass, freshly mown grass. My son looked at me a bit strange as I crossed a busy road to take this photo, but who cares, as this smells so good and not something I thought I'd be smelling living in the desert.

  2. It sounds so lovely to have your son over and I'm glad you're having such a good time together. I'd wait on him hand and foot too in your situation! (Let's be honest, I do anyway!) So with you on the Easter thing, as you know.
Your photo of the Dubai skyline is gorgeous.

    1. I really need to do the ferry trip again and get a photo from outside the cabin to remove the reflection in the window. The teen has now been here long enough for the fun element to have worn off....lol

  3. freshly mown grass does have a smell all of its own - and makes me sneeze and my eyes water. Shame you dont get to see more of your son but wonderful to spoil him when you do get him.
No wonder he wanted a few days off, sounds like you have been very busy.
