When this photo was taken in January, I had no idea where the station was going to be located, turns out it's right where the piece of yellow machinery is.
I wrote a post back in June with photo's of the stations development which you can find here.
Peter has continued to take random photos for me while I'm in the UK, I suspect by the time I get back in October it will be complete, although the line isn't due to open until early 2019.
It doesn't look like much has been done over the past few months, but just take a look at the first picture and see how much they've done in 7 already.

I do find it amazing how quickly buildings take shape in Dubai. I can't imagine how many people they must have working on them. It's great that picture has kept taking photos for you.
ReplyDeleteI didn't ask Peter he's just become as fascinated by the build as i have
DeleteThis series of photographs is just fascinating. They don't much about in Dubai do they? Seven months to get that far. Just amazing (although you do hear stories about the working conditions!). #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeletenew labours laws were introduced in 2017, they also work 24/7 there's no bank holiday nonsense there
DeleteHi Suzanne, construction certainly does move in Dubai. If that was in Greece it would take them seven months to have got that far! How the Greek built the Parathanon I don't know.

xx
it does amaze me when i see buildings in the UK contracted in 1800 within 4 years and whole modern day housing estates taking just as long
DeleteI can never quite believe how quick things happen there.
ReplyDeleteme neither, every time i come away i return to a new place
DeleteIt's taking shape so quickly. Do they have any working restrictions or can they work 24 hours a day?
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good Sunday and thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto
24/7 work, but restrictions on noise at night and no daytime working outdoors in summer between 12-3pm
DeleteIt's all happening so quickly. Great to see the progress.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what else has changed when i go home
