Ski Dubai

A couple of years ago, when I was foolish and didn't leave Dubai in the summer, I visited Ski Dubai with a friend for coffee. We didn't ski, we watched.

The temperature outside was 45c, inside it was -10c.

I carried ski boots and clothing from the car park to the ski dome, the extremes of temperature were astounding.

Ski Dubai is an indoor ski resort, access is via the Mall of the Emirates on the ground floor of the mall. It opened in November 2005 and features an 85 meter high mountain, 5 slopes, a 400 meter long run. There's both a quad and a tow lift for skiers and snow boarders. All equipment and skis are included in your ticket price.

I've been documenting construction in Dubai for the past 4 years and also featuring buildings around the world that I find interesting, you can see more by clicking on the links below:

  4. It's been 28 in Manchester recently, and I have been seriously considering visiting the Manchester one just for coffee too - purely to cool down! I Don't envy you and the 45 degree furnace! #MySundayPhoto
